Mickey Bassant
R.I.P Mickey: Unfortunately Mickey bravely passed away earlier this year. Mickey Dee was a wonderful dog and a true champion among tripods. He will be the patron saint of this competition.
Nickname: Mickey Dee.
Breed: Irish Terrier
Hometown: Welllington. New Zealand
Date of Birth: 2001.

Favorite hobbies:
Going to the beach. Walking – anywhere, anytime. Finding a sunny spot. Eyeing up the chickens. Piddling on anything, without cocking a leg. Sitting on the footpath watching who’s coming up the street. Sleeping on his bean bag, all three legs pointing skyward.
Tricks or funny things:
Lots! Loves to chase rabbits and will disappear down a bank after one – and then wait very quietly until someone climbs down the bank after him and CARRIES him back up. Sometimes he’s missing for a while because if he gets stuck he won’t make a sound. It’s one of the few times when he’s limited by having three legs only – otherwise he’s very agile and a great runner..
How Mickey lost his leg:
Sometime after our old dog Ruby Ridgeback died, we were looking on the SPCA site – and had already fallen in love with Mickey when we realized that he was at the Auckland SPCA (we are in Wellington) so Mark flew up and got him.
He’s been recognised here in Wellington by a couple of people who knew him from his former life – and they think he was hit by a car.
Why Mickey should be Scrap:
He has heaps of character, is a real people’s dog, is very laid back and friendly to everyone. On his flight from Auckland to Wellington he developed a passion for travel, and dreams of Prague, bright lights and stardom.
Kiwi dogs can do anything.

I absolutely LOVE THIS DOG! <3
